Inaugural Guide to D.C.

Sunday, December 28th, 2008

I’m very glad to announce that Traveler mag has just launched it’s inaugural online city guide – and appropriately enough, it’s for those planning to travel to the presidential inauguration in D.C.

Check out the U Street Gallery, our selection of Editor’s Picks, our user-generated “Your Washington” photo gallery, and Aloha Washington, a guide to Hawaiian fare in the nation’s capital. They’re all terrific.

Office Space

So I’m a little behind the times here, but last month’s issue of Men’s Journal had a neat little spread by yours truly about fancy office gear – some sleek desks and a pen that can break a window should you find that type of thing necessary. (Nowhere in the piece though, did my extensive research on red staplers come into play). You can check out the PDF here.

Holiday… Celebrate

Sunday, December 21st, 2008

Now I know why they’re called holidays. We’re just back from a trip to the Cayman Islands, where I swam with stingrays, pet turtles, made rope, ate fritters, rode catamarans, relaxed on the beach, and even got some stuff done for work. And now we’re back, having avoided the terrible weather from last week, and our tree is up and we’re headlong into Christmas preparations. Not a bad way to end the year.

Here’s a pic that Tim took of me before we set off for our sunset sail. I love this photo.

UPDATE: Here’s a quick roundup of some of the authentic finds I came across on my trip.
