Spring Awakening
Thursday, July 23rd, 2009Finally caught up with the zeitgeist and saw “Spring Awakening” this week at the Kennedy Center, and it was, as its eight Tony’s indicate, fantastic. Certainly evokes all those teen-angsty, stomach-in-knots, nervous awkward emotions I’ve managed to overcome since high school, and the fact that it was written — and censored — in 1891 is rather incredible. Perhaps not the best thing to take your mom to, but I’m looking forward to seeing the other adaptations that Duncan Sheik has in store.
