Finally caught up with the zeitgeist and saw “Spring Awakening” this week at the Kennedy Center, and it was, as its eight Tony’s indicate, fantastic. Certainly evokes all those teen-angsty, stomach-in-knots, nervous awkward emotions I’ve managed to overcome since high school, and the fact that it was written — and censored — in 1891 is rather incredible. Perhaps not the best thing to take your mom to, but I’m looking forward to seeing the other adaptations that Duncan Sheik has in store.

Without Project Runway in my life — when, oh when will Tim Gunn come back to me — I have to resort to making stuff myself to satisfy my creative cravings. [Ok, I kind of do this anyway, but really, bring back PR!] This week’s project: Finding a way to organize the earrings that have been crowding my dresser. Solution: After scouring the hardware store for some kind of screen, I was taken with the bright blue webbing in several air conditioner filters. I found one that had circular metal screen on the outside, and that was it. I snagged some red electrical tape and I was on my way. See how after the jump.

So it’s begun. I’ve found the wedding blogs, and now I’m trolling them, searching for ideas like a crack-starved addict who needs a fix. (Ok, maybe that’s a little dramatic, but the fix thing, it’s surprisingly real.) A new favorite: Green Wedding Shoes, which is photographically brilliant and has me seriously considering a move to southern California. One favorite post is the couple pictured here, who did a remarkably low-key wedding, and their photos: bliss. Also adore this one, and this one. You see where I’m going with this?

And before you get all tsk-tsk with me about blogging about wedding stuff let me just say: I am truly drawn to the design element of these blogs moreso than the pomp and circumstance frou-frou associations that I typically associate with the planning of one’s wedding. Along with the whole getting-married-to-my-best friend thing (hi Tim), I’m most excited about planning a day that celebrates who we are as a couple and sharing that with our loved ones. And making the whole thing as much fun as humanly possible.

Things happen in threes right? This is the only way to explain why I not only broke into radio this week, but managed to do three interviews in two days. The first was with KOA Radio in Denver, Colorado, where I had the chance to chat about my Boulder article in this month’s issue of Traveler. Then I had was asked to take part in Mediabistro’s Morning Media Menu with Jason Boog and Matt Van Hoven. It was a blast, and it created a mini-blitz on their respective blogs, and a flood of emails in my inbox. You can listen here:

Then, finally, I managed to do the final interview, which was with the wonderful Boyd Matson of National Geographic Weekend. That interview airs next week, and hopefully, I’ll be doing more soon.
